The English Toy Terrier Club runs a Top Dog Competition each year for seven key awards, based on a points system. ETT Club Top Dog leaderboards for the current year are published below and updated monthly. A new award for the Best Special Beginner Of The Year was introduced in 2025.

2. Points System
The Club operates its own points system to calculate many of its top awards. In 2025, the ETT Club Committee agreed to update this system to ensure a fairer and more balanced allocation of points. The revised system takes into account the number of dogs competing in each class and provides greater recognition for those dogs that achieve top awards.
Points are collected only at Championship Shows that offer breed classes and Challenge Certificates from the RKC with results being collated by the Cup Steward. Points are distributed as follows:
| Championship Show Award | Leaderboard Points Awarded |
|---|---|
| 1st Place in any class | 3 points (2 points if only 2 dogs present & 1 point if dog stands alone ) |
| 2nd Place in any class | 2 points (if 3 dogs present, 1 point of 2 dogs present) |
| 3rd Place in any class | 1 point |
| CC winner, | 5 points additional |
| RCC winner | 3 points additional |
| BPIB, BOB, BVIB, BSPEC BEG | 3 points additional |
