ETT Rescue

English Toy Terrier puppy
It’s hard to imagine any English Toy Terrier needing to be be re-homed or placed in rescue but circumstances can change for even the most devoted English Toy Terrier owners and we are here to help.

There are many reasons why dogs, including our beloved ETTs, need to be re-homed and commonly, it is through no fault of the dog(s) or the owner(s). We understand that life can throw curve balls and circumstances mean that keeping a dog is no longer in the best interests of the dog, the owner, or both. We can help you if you are:

  1. An ETT owner who needs to re-home a dog
  2. Concerned about neglect or abuse of an ETT owned by someone else
  3. A third-party Rescue with an ETT in your care
  4. Interested in adopting an English Toy Terrier

The ongoing good health and welfare of English Toy Terriers is a key area of focus for the work of the Club. More info:

2. If you have concerns about the welfare of an ETT owned by someone else

If you believe an ETT in the UK is being neglected or abused, please contact:

The RSPCA, the SSPCA, the Police Service of Northern Ireland and local councils all have legal enforcement powers to investigate and intervene if a dog is being neglected or abused.

After you have reported it to the relevant authority, please contact us so that we can follow up with them to offer support.

3. If you are a third-party Rescue with an ETT in your care

We are happy to advise third-party rescue organisations on any aspect of the care and ongoing well-being of an English Toy Terrier. We are also happy to support third party rescues by sharing details of any ETT or ETT cross dogs through our networks to reach potential new homes quickly.

Contact: Kat Patrick, Welfare Officer, texangals@gmail.com or call (USA) +1-512-217-6984 (use Whatsapp).

4. Interested in adopting an English Toy Terrier?

Thankfully, the number of English Toy Terriers that are re-homed through rescue is small, in part because the breed is a vulnerable breed and there are relatively few ETTs in the UK. However, from time to time, we do need to find homes for ETTs.

If you would like us to contact you if an English Toy Terrier needs a new, permanent home, please fill in our form to Register Your Interest in Adopting an English Toy Terrier.
