
Good health in the small population of English Toy Terriers is crucial to preserving the breed.
As a vulnerable native breed with an average of only around 100 English Toy Terriers registered with the Royal Kennel Club (RKC) each year, the health of the overall English Toy Terrier population is a key area of focus for our Club.
English Toy Terriers are a relatively healthy breed of pedigree dog and to maintain and improve the good health of the breed, it is essential that breeders and prospective breeders understand the health issues that affect this vulnerable breed, and use that knowledge to better inform mating decisions to produce English Toy Terriers that are healthy and meet the Breed Standard.
