English Toy Terrier (Black and Tan) Special Award Critiques –Mrs Zoe Phillips
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the exhibitors who supported me by entering their dogs. I truly appreciate the opportunity.
The English Toy Terriers shone on this beautiful sunny day. The ring was a real challenge as it was on a slope with two textures of grass so displaying these beautiful little dogs to their full potential was a real challenge.
Awards Class – Junior (4 entries, 2 Abs)
1st – Lasagesse Whole Lotta Love with Tettoy (Mrs V LovThis young lady showed herself very well. She has a beautiful, feminine wedged head, a correct scissor bite, well-shaped dark eyes, and ears well set on the back of her head, giving her an alert, bold expression. Her elegant neck is well set into the shoulder. She has a firm, well-balanced body with a good turn of stifle. Her topline levelled slightly on the move, she moved freely around the ring covering the ground well.
2nd – Wykewoks Autumnal Sunsetta of Pendlethrine (Mrs C Pendlebury)
This little lady was a little unsure and hesitant around the ring today. She has a petite, feminine head, scissor bite, and a slight stop, with a nice ear set. She possesses a very elegant neck. Exhibiting a curved topline and a smart turn of stifle. Good, shiny coat with a rich tan. I just wish I could have assessed her on the move.
Special Award Class – Post Graduate (1 entry, 0 absent)
1st – Lasagesse Jumpin Jack Flash (Mr D & Mrs C Howard)
This gentleman did not put a foot wrong. He has a strong wedge head, scissor bite, and an alert, confident expression. Strong neck flowing into the shoulder, a well-muscled body with a nice loin-to-rib ratio, and a nice turn of stifle. Good coat and correct markings were on show. He trotted around the ring with confidence, holding his topline nicely.
Special Award Class – Open (8 entries, 2 absent)
1st – Lasagesse Kashmir JW (Mr G & Mrs L Dixon)
This little girl sparkled in the ring and was in excellent condition, showing herself off beautifully. She has a good, feminine wedged head, a correct scissor bite, slight stop, and nice dark almond eyes. Well-set candle flame ears. Neat neck flowing into a nice, curvy topline. Well tucked croup. Beautiful rich black and tan coat. Straight coming and going. She was well balanced and confident even around the difficult ring, presenting a balanced picture.
2nd – Nasabe Royal Rose with Airambech (Mrs M J Goodfellow)
Another to put on a good show and a tidy performance around the ring. Nice wedge head, scissor bite, dark almond eye, with the candle flame ears being used well to create an alert expression. Nice neck into the shoulder, a good curve on the topline to rounded buttocks, and a good turn of stifle. Thumbprints were on show on a nice, rich coat. She moved very well.
